In the meantime, here’s to 85, one of the band’s most prolific years. With Ou Pa Ka Sav, the Patrick Saint-Eloi / Jean-Philippe Marthély duo, backed by the whole Kassav’ family, plus a few loyal friends (Edith Lefel and Bago, for example), signed a flawless eight-track album that has become as many timeless hits. L’esancyel, Bizness, Souskay, Pa Bisoin Palé… In 2009, Kassav’ became the first French group to fill the 80,000-seat Stade de France. Let’s hear it, and go zouk!
