Released in March of this year, the project Black lives – From Generation to Generation brings together no less than twenty-five signatures, each more talented than the last, and spread across the United States, the West Indies and Africa. Curated by producer Stefany Calembert and bassist Reggie Washington, the album moves from gwoka to rap, blues to lyricism, from r’n’b fusion to snippets of free and rock, from the Mandingo afro-jazz of Cheikh Tidiane Seck to the ancestral rhythms of Benin with Yul… In short, the musical journey is as diverse as the approach to the same message.

With Cheick Tidiane Seck, Immanuel Wilkins, David & Marque Gilmore, Stephanie McKay, Andy Milne, Sonny Troupé, Reggie Washington, Alicia Hall Moran, DJ Grazzhoppa, Adam Falcon, Jeremy Pelt, Grégory Privat, Marcus Strickland, E.J. Strickland, Oliver Lake, Jacques Schwarz-Bat, Gene Lake, In Tutu Puoane, Yul, Marvin Sewell, Jean-Paul Bourelly.

Meet some of the project’s key players: Grégory Privat, Sonny Troupé, Jacques Schwarz-Bart…
