Des Antilles… à la Canne à Sucre – Sylvio Siobud, vers 1975

,

On the small “Les Tréteaux” label, better known for its releases of recordings by Daniel Janin, who was one of its founders, we find this late album by Sylvio Siobud (and friends), probably released in the mid-70s. It’s a record you can pick up cheaply at the flea market. On the face of it, it’s just a few unpretentious little biguines for the public… Except that among Sylvio Siobud’s friends are well hidden names such as Georges Edouard-Nouel, bassist Winston Berkeley and drummer Omer Chery, among others. As a result, you have to be on the lookout for a few uncontrolled escapes that alone are worth the detour. “Des Antilles… À la Canne à Sucre” won’t be your definitive bedside album, but it’s well worth a listen!
