🎵🇨🇲🎶🎸⭐️ Eboa Lotin is undoubtedly one of Cameroon’s great melodists and composers. His first major hit was Elimb’a Dikalo, released in 1965. Lotin brought a touch of folk to makossa and paved the way for future acoustic troubadours such as Henri Dikongué and Donny Elwood. In 1967, he won the Vick’s Vedette competition – presided over by Duke Ellington – and travelled to Paris. He took advantage of his stay to record several tracks, including Besombe, which was aimed at young people and certainly remains his biggest international success. In 1977, this in-house compilation features Eboa Lotin’s major tracks, which have also often been covered, for example by Jay-Lou Ava, Guy Lobé or even Etienne Mbappé. The bassist included Elimb’a Dikalo on his second solo album, Su La Také, in 2008. Eboa Lotin died prematurely in 1997.
