đŸ’ƒđŸ’„đŸ‘Żâ€â™‚ïžđŸ‡ČđŸ‡¶đŸŽ·đŸŽ¶ Created in 1946, the Groupe Folklorique Martiniquais was historically directed by Loulou Boislaville. After the arrival of choreographer Ronnie Aul – in the 60s – and then the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonjour, the ensemble took the name Grand Ballet de Martinique in 1978. Belle Martinique Nous A ! came out in 1980, and brilliantly revived traditional Antillean hits: La Rue Zabyme, Serpent Maigre, Adieu Foulards… they’re all there, with the participation of such well-known names as Al Lirvat and Josy Masse. JosĂ© Benjamin is on saxophone and Frantz Regna on clarinet. Unfortunately, the rest of the credits are not listed, and that’s a shame, because there are some dazzling moments – particularly on the piano – that deserve recognition! We don’t even really know whether Loulou Boislaville is still conducting, as the two editions of the album disagree on the subject.
