đŸŽžđŸ„đŸŒđŸ‡łđŸ‡ŹđŸŽ¶ A bouquet of guitars and percussion, the recipe for Igbo Highlife by Oriental Brothers International is unstoppable, blending Afrobeat, makossa, merengue, soukous… influences. The group was born in the early 70’s in Eastern Nigeria – hence the name… – under the impetus of two Opara brothers, Godwin “Kabaka”, guitarist, and Ferdinand “DanSatch” Chukwuemeka, lead guitarist and bassist. In 1977, the Brothers were enjoying great success with the release of their two long tracks – one on each side – Ugwu Manu Na Nwanne Ya and Kele Chi. Above all, the Oriental Brothers were still going strong, celebrating their fiftieth anniversary this year. The album O Ku Ngwo Di Ochi was released last June, in the purest Highlife instrumental tradition of the time!
