Kalatea – 1996

,

Among the groups that unfortunately only shone for the space of one album, Kalatea is certainly one of the stars of this year 1996. Pianist Harry Prudenté – a product of the Creole folk movement initiated by Dominik Coco – released this eponymous album, featuring vocals by Jean-François Deleray, somewhere between zouk and Creole jazz. It featured a host of talented musicians, including Hubert Colau, Rody Cereyon, Jacky Arconte and Dominique Tauliaut. Unfortunately, there will never be a follow-up.
