Pierre Akendengue‘s third album, Eseringila (Trait d’Union), released in 1978, is both militant and traditional. The 11:11 minutes of Afrobeat/afro funk on the title track alone are worth the diversions. The album features contributions from Mino Cinelu on percussion and Brazilian guitarist Chiquinho, who has played with the likes of Os Maracatu and Nazaré Pereira.
