Contribution 3A au Patrimoine Martiniquais – Pakatak, 1979

,

A cultural manifesto, the first album by Pakatak, created on the initiative of Dédé Saint Prix, was released on the 3A label under the title “Contribution 3A au Patrimoine Martiniquais” in 1980 (or almost…). It was also one of the very first recordings by the very young Bago. A mix of quadrille, bélè and chouval bwa, the album puts Martinique’s traditions back in the spotlight, behind the flute of its leader. With Claude Garçon, Jean-Paul Roffalet, Max Bellony and Philippe Burdy. Pianist Paul Rosine also features on the track Rouzé I and Corinne Emmanuel on vocals.
