Clair de Lune à l’Escale (vol. 1) – La Perfecta, 1970

,

🎺🎷🥁🎤🎻🌴 To round off the year in style, let’s take a look back at the beginnings of one of Martinique’s most emblematic orchestras. La Perfecta burst onto the Martinique scene in 1970, and went on to change the face of West Indian music over the years. The band takes its name from Eddie Palmieri’s band of the same name, who also broke with the codes of the traditional son in Puerto Rico. La Perfecta’s first album, ‘Clair de Lune à l’Escale‘, is published by Célini Disques and has an unmistakable Latin flavour, with jazz, compas, biguine, bolero, merengue and calypso.
