Toto Nécessité – 1980

,

It was in the early 70s, when his duet with Rodrigue Milien was already a hit, that Jean-Jules Similien took the name Toto Nécessité, after the title of one of their hits. He began his career in New York, where he was based, releasing almost a record a year, with hits such as L’hôpital and Rose d’Enfer. In 1980, Toto Nécessité on the one hand went on a long tour of Haiti, and on the other released his 6th album Bande Nan Chaud on Mini Records. On this album, we can appreciate the delicate compas of its author, to be savoured on tracks such as Artémise and Ti Roro. Toto Nécessité remained very active on the music scene until the 2010s. Go on, compas!
