🎷🎺🎸🪗🥁🌴💿 Just before, or just after, the chronology isn’t very precise, but the fact remains that the two albums by Tinou Lavital and his Pyromanes were released around the same time, towards the end of 1979 or the beginning of 1980. Fire has already been presented, and now it’s the turn of this four-track EP, probably the best known, Solidarité. Trombonist Al Lirvat has joined the band and co-writes the arrangements with the boss. The messages are varied, with this political Solidarité between Guadeloupe, Martinique and Guyana on the one hand, and Les Sept Motifs du Cocufiage on the other! In any case, the cadence is rich with influences ranging from Latin to funk, and even some reggae sounds. The album’s long tracks give way to some tasty choruses, from the guitar (Willy Merkiled), Robert Bazergue’s keyboards, Marcel Louis Joseph’s very jazz sax, and of course Al Lirvat’s trombone. After Fire, Solidarité closes the catalogue of the short-lived Antilles Musique Diffusion label.
