Guitarist and singer Jean-Paul Mondo produced most of his records in the 80s. However, he got his start recording with Black Styl’ in the late 70s. He went on to form Les Jokers, before going solo. Here, then, is classic makossa in its purest form, with nothing to envy from some of the better-known names. On New Horizon, he is supported by Toto Guillaume, Aladji Touré, Guy Bilong… All of which can only go down well! After that, he retired from production, but not from music. Jean-Paul Mondo died prematurely in 2004.
