In 1970, Robert Martino left Les Difficiles de Pétion Ville to form les Gypsies. The two now rival orchestras published some of the finest pages of Haitian compas. Haiti is volume 5, released in 1976, with the hit “La Tulipe”. And a nod to @fwedkistaa, who posted this very record not long ago!
