Excellent Latin groove made in Martinique with this rather strange record that brings together one side by the Sélecta de Martinique and one side by Francisco et son orchestre, and with covers printed head to toe. The famous singer, dancer and percussionist, composer of the now-standard Fanm Matinik Dou, opens the ball with his Latin reinterpretation of the beguine. Irresistible! On the B-side, Daniel Sigère’s group is closer to the beat, but the Latin influences are there too. To be listened to without moderation!
