La Fleur et l’Oiseau would be the last album by the much-missed Marius Cultier in 1983. The title track, sung by Jocelyne Béroard, would win the Grand Prix de la chanson française d’outre-mer awarded by SACEM. The rest of the album is instrumental, mixing jazz with Creole and nostalgic accents. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Marius Cultier on a few choruses that remind us, if needed, of the extent of his art. And this copy came with the entire press review of the journalist who programmed it, entirely typed out!
