After the Gramacks, and before Volt-Face, Jeff Joseph had met the members of Kool & the Gang, at a time when openness was the watchword in the evolution of Caribbean music. He released a number of tracks, including this Banana Sweet, released in 1988, which blends the Caribbean sounds of steel drums with American disco-funk. On the B-side, Rock My Soul revives the reggae so affectionate to Jeff Joseph.
