In 1987, Kanda Bongo Man got planet Africa dancing with Sai-Liza. After his beginnings in Congo-Kinshasa, influenced by Tabu Ley, Kanda Bongo Man moved to Paris at the end of the 70s and honed his evolution of soukous, the famous kwasa kwasa that skips the slow rumba to focus on fast rhythm and guitars. Diblo Dibala and Lokassa Ya Mbongo play the strings here. And don’t forget Evelyne Marlin on backing vocals!
