Fonseca et ses Anges Noirs – 1976

, ,

Of Cape Verdean and Senegalese origin, Luis Vera da Fonseca represents the influence of Cuban music in West Africa. With his Anges Noirs, he had achieved success and performed in Belgium and France. Manu Dibango had even, for a time, been the director of his orchestra. In this 1976 album, published by Riviera, Afro-Cuban music rubs shoulders with highlife as much as merengue or cha-cha.
